Audi Training Partnership Expands to ÐÔÊӽ紫ý Tech in Columbia

COLUMBIA, MD – December 6, 2016 – ÐÔÊӽ紫ý Tech in Columbia, MD has become the latest ÐÔÊӽ紫ý Tech campus to be selected for the Audi Education Partnership Program.  As a Premium Plus Level partner, the Columbia campus offers students the chance to apply for Audi training classes that complement the school’s Automotive Technology program, and open new doors to career paths after graduation.

Audi is providing the curriculum and equipment for the courses, which include Audi-specific service, maintenance and roadside assistance skills.  Training models include the A3 and Q5, also provided by Audi.  In addition to new and existing students, ÐÔÊӽ紫ý Tech graduates can also return to school and build these manufacturer-specific skills.

Audi projects a need to grow their technician workforce by more than 50% between 2015-2020, leading to more opportunities for ÐÔÊӽ紫ý Tech graduates across Maryland and around the country.  ÐÔÊӽ紫ý Tech is participating in the Audi Education Partnership Program to expand the career paths available to its graduates, and to provide regional Audi dealers with a steady pipeline of candidates who are already familiar with the technology used on today’s vehicles.

According to careeronestop.org, an affiliate site of the U.S. Department of Labor’s Bureau of Labor Statistics, more than 20,000 positions are projected to become available each year for automotive technicians around the country between 2014-2024.  These jobs demand skills beyond just ‘turning wrenches,’ and training programs like ÐÔÊӽ紫ý’s Automotive Technology with Audi Education Partnership help students build the highly technical skills that employers look for.
