Nashville accreditation meeting for ÐÔÊӽ紫ý Tech's Nashville Heavy Equipment Program

Sept. 10, 2019 Update - Since the original post date of June 12, 2019, ÐÔÊӽ紫ý Tech's South Plainfield campus became the second school in the nation to earn AED accreditation, joining the Nashville campus as accredited Heavy Equipment Maintenance career training locations.

With opportunities in Heavy Equipment Maintenance projected to experience double-digit growth across Tennessee by 2026*, careers in construction equipment offer the chance for trained technicians to earn a living doing exciting hands-on work.  ÐÔÊӽ紫ý Tech’s Nashville campus, celebrating its 100th anniversary this year, recently became the first school in the U.S. to earn programmatic accreditation by Associated Equipment Distributors (AED) for its Heavy Equipment Maintenance Technology program.  The accreditation cements ÐÔÊӽ紫ý Tech’s place as a leading destination for students looking to train for this fast-paced, rewarding field.

AED is an international organization which represents companies in the construction, mining, power generation, and agriculture equipment industries.  By building skills for working with construction equipment, and with many other types of heavy machinery, you can open up new career paths.  These are jobs that demand unique skill sets built through industry-specific training like ÐÔÊӽ紫ý Tech’s Heavy Equipment Maintenance Technology program at the Nashville campus.

At a ceremony held on campus earlier this spring, executives from AED joined ÐÔÊӽ紫ý Tech administrators and local hiring partners to commemorate ÐÔÊӽ紫ý’s selection as the first school to earn the AED accreditation.  ÐÔÊӽ紫ý Tech’s Nashville campus – formerly known as Nashville Auto-Diesel College (NADC) – was selected thanks to the quality of its curriculum as well as its connection to a broad network of employers throughout the region.

Student support helps graduates launch careers working with agriculture machinery and more

The campus holds a series of career fairs throughout the year that allow students to connect with hiring managers prior to graduation.  These employers come to ÐÔÊӽ紫ý Tech with positions to fill on their teams, giving graduates the chance to pursue jobs working with construction equipment, agriculture machinery, mining equipment, and more.

Starting a career in these fields can put you at the forefront of an industry that keeps America growing and our economy moving.  Heavy equipment maintenance technicians are needed to troubleshoot and repair the engines, hydraulics, suspensions, and electrical systems of all types of heavy machinery.  They also perform regularly scheduled service to keep these machines operating in top condition.

AED’s accreditation is an industry seal of approval for ÐÔÊӽ紫ý Tech Nashville’s Heavy Equipment Maintenance Technology program: students come from all over the country to train at this historic school, and if you’re looking to start an exciting new career, make it your destination as well!
